PAPER CEMPAZUCHITL FLOWER MAKING
Create Beauty for the Community Ancestor Altar
Make traditional paper cempazúchitl flowers (marigolds) for the community ancestor altar and take one home for your own ofrenda. Learn about some of the traditions, symbolism, and practices of Dia de los Muertos and why we build the community ofrenda (open to the public Oct. 26-Nov.7). Create beauty, memories, and community. We will craft together until we have enough flowers for the community ofrenda. If we finish before 4pm we may begin clean-up.
Family Friendly Event. All materials provided. No experience necessary.
Sign up required for planning purposes. Space is limited.
FREE: donations accepted (but not necessary)
Any donations received help cover the significant annual costs of building and maintaining the altar (flowers and plants, copal incense, charcoal for copalera, paper marigold supplies, calavera cards, signage, etc.)
Please note: In case of rain the first participants to arrive will be given priority in the limited indoor space available.
